BABYSITTING, RED CROSS INTRODUCTION CLASS * 261212

What makes a “good” babysitter who is asked back again and again? A good babysitter successfully combines the knowledge and skills associated with leadership, safety and safe play, basic care, first aid, and professionalism. This course has been designed around these five major themes. Participants will receive a certification card and reference textbook upon completion of the course. Pizza lunch is provided.

The Ocean City Baseball League is a Recreation League for boys and girls in 4th-7th grades. The league will have two divisions, 4th –5th and 6th –7th . BASEBALL, AQUAFINA PITCH, HIT & RUN COMPETITION * 307111A

Pitch, Hit, & Run is a free Maryland Recreation & Parks Association program for boys and girls ages 7 - 14 years, who will be competing together. It allows children the opportunity to showcase their batting, fielding/throwing, and base-running abilities. Boys and girls compete together in four age groups, 8 and Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. There are four levels of competition that a youngster has the opportunity to advance through to participate in the National Finals. These levels are Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships and the National Finals. The sectionals will be held at Shorebird Stadium, the Team Championships will be held at Camden Yards, in Baltimore and the National Finals conclude during the 2008 Major League Baseball All Star week.

Start Smart Golf is a developmental program designed by the National Alliance for Youth Sports that helps prepare children to enter the world of organized golf by teaching them fundamental motor skills necessary for the foundation of the swing. Using age appropriate equipment to conduct fun exercises, children learn basic skills that will help them to exceed and excel once they enter youth sports.

OC COASTAL BAYS BIO BLITZ CAMP * 417107A

New to our camp line up, we are proud to offer this new nature camp in coordination with Maryland Coastal Bays Program and Delmarva Low-Impact Tourism Experiences. Become a wildlife scientist and discover what it takes to keep a heron happy, a terrapin tickled, a horseshoe crab content, a pipefish pleased, and a dolphin delighted. Learn what kids can do to help improve their own backyards and make our world a better place for the coastal bays and our animal friends. In this hands-on camp, participants will experience nature up-close. They will get their hands dirty and their feet wet and get eye-to-eye with other species. Participants will discover the riches of the coastal bay habitats and learn how scientists test water quality, utilize collection techniques, identify plant and animal species, and evaluate human impacts to assess overall habitat quality. Campers will connect with nature, hone observation skills, and develop a sharpened sense of the natural world!!!

CSI - CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION CAMP * 417103A

Back by popular demand, we bring you Crime Scene Investigation camp directed by Sciensational Workshops For Kids Inc. In their 31st year of operation, we are sure they will please all who participate. You will be the super science sleuths. Have fun learning about forensics, crime scene investigations, and crime lab chemistry as you perform as many as 25 different experiments designed to show you just how those tricky cases are solved. Search for the evidence, gather clues, and discover how science can help solve a mystery. Participants will: Dust for fingerprints, analyze handwriting, test for blood type and DNA using simulated blood, examine hair and clothing fibers, practice chemistry to identify mystery substances and much more. Can You Dig It? Fossil Hunt Camp *417104A

New to our summer science camp line up we would like to introduce the Fossil Hunt Camp directed by Sciensational Workshops For Kids Inc. In their 31st year of operation, we are sure they will please all who participate. Archeology and Paleontology seem like big words to kids, but this camp makes it come alive. Kids will do simulated fossil excavations with over 100 fossils, dirt, and lots of fun. Some of the fossils are up to 500 million years old. Discover an actual dinosaur bone and a 500 million year old trilobite. Cleaning brushes, 3 lens magnifier, labels and specimen bags will be provided. We will use our geological time and fossil charts. Identify 20 million year old shark’s teeth, mammal bones, and much more!

The Rocket Robot – Hyper Peppy Robotics *417105A

New to our summer science camp line up we would like to introduce the Rocket Robot Camp directed by Sciensational Workshops For Kids Inc. Build and take home your own Rocket Robot. It works by the clap of your hands or the sound of your voice. It has a very sensitive touch/sound sensor. It will automatically reverse, and then turn left before embarking on a new course. IT’S FAST!!! You control its’ movement and you can make it more sensitive or less sensitive to sound. You will see, first hand, the many gears, circuit board, microphone, and it’s easy to assemble the mechanical drive system. It is motivational and builds self-confidence. The Youth Fishing classes are designed to teach participants the basics of the sport of fishing. Franky Pettolina of the Ocean City Marlin Club will be the Program Instructor. The NFL Flag Football League is open to boys and girls. This second year league will use a five-on-five format. The offensive team plays for a first down and a touchdown in the end zone. The defensive team covers receiver, rushes the passer, and grabs flags to make tackles.

Scott Moyer, Director of Golf Operations and Men’s Golf Coach at McDaniel College, along with Michael Diehl, Head Professional and Women’s Golf Coach at McDaniel College have planned two exciting weeks of golf just for you. Spend your summer vacation learning the rules of the game, golf etiquette, the equipment needed to play and improving your golf game. The Ocean Bowl’s Skate Lessons will use small group instruction to pass along basic and intermediate skills to future X-games superstars! Level 1: This session is for brand new skaters. Skaters will learn to pump, ride, and transition along with caring for the board.

Do you want to develop strength power, and speed for your sport? Crossfit is a core strength and conditioning program which involves jumping, running, pushing, rotating, balancing, and throwing. It will help you develop a fitness that is foundational to all athletic needs.

Camp Directors for Ocean City’s first Sports Conditioning Camp will be Lisa and Dave Long of Live Long Fitness in West Ocean City, MD. Live Long Fitness is the areas only self standing facility devoted solely to personal training and Crossfit. Lisa and Dave are both Crossfit Level 1 trainers, as well as certified personal trainers, triathlon coaches, and kids fitness trainers.

Our camp directors and their staff are proven instructors with experience and qualifications to help children achieve their personal goals. Each participant receives a camp t‑shirt, basketball, 5 x 7 photo with coach, certificate of completion, and give‑a‑ways. Camper should bring a non-perishable lunch for the first three days, a pizza party will be held on the last day.
