Amateur Angler Fishing Contest set to begin in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND.....With the summer season approaching, Ocean City’s Amateur Angler Fishing Contest returns for its 28th year of weekly contests open to all visitors and local anglers fishing in the bays and ocean of Ocean City. Award Certificates are given out weekly for the largest flounder, trout, bluefish, sea bass, tautog and rockfish.

The contest officially begins Monday, May 19th at 12:01 a.m. and continues until Sunday at midnight, running weekly until August 31st. To enter, have your fish weighed at any of Ocean City’s official weigh stations and complete an official catch report.

Amateur angler catch report locations include: Bahia Marina, 22nd St.; Ocean Pines Marina; Buck’s Place, Assateague Rd.; John Henry’s Bait & Tackle, Route 611; Harbor Bait & Tackle, Ake Marine Bait & Tackle, Sunset Marina and Sunset Provisions, Sunset Ave.; Ocean City Fishing Center, West Ocean City; Oceanic Fishing Pier, South Philadelphia Ave., O.C. Fishing Pier, Wicomico St.; Talbot Street Pier; White Marlin Marina, Somerset St. and Oyster Bay Tackle, 116th Street.
