The Town of Ocean City has been operating the 65th Street Recycling Center since 1991. In addition to
aluminum, Ocean City collects recyclable materials such as glass, plastic, newspapers and cardboard.
Recycling containers available upon request for curbside pick-up. Curbside recycling collections are currently
available to all single family homes on the following schedule:
Monday: Montego Bay, Wednsday: Caine Woods, Thursday: Caine Keys, 94th Street, Little Salisbury, Friday: 28th Street
area, Mallard Island and downtown.
Ocean City also offers recycling drop-off locations at the following locations: Worcester Street Municipal Lot
(under the water tower), 2nd Street Trailways Bus Terminal, 28th Street bayside, the Convention Center
satellite parking lot at 39th Street, 66th Street (under the water tower), 94th Street parking lot (southwest side),
130th Street (behind the Montego Bay Shopping Center's southwest corner) and 137th Street next to the water
plant.
Residents interested in participating in the town's aluminum buy back program can take their aluminum cans to
the 65th Street Recycling Center during the following hours: September to June on Wednesdays and
Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; from June to September the schedule is Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m.
to 1 p.m.
The Ocean City Recycling Center located at 65th Street, Bayside, would like to announce their Winter Hours.
The Aluminum Can Buy Back Center will be open on Wednesday's and Saturday's only, beginning September
13. 2000. Hours of operation will be from 8:00AM to 1:00PM. Recycling Center Hours will be from 7:00AM to
3:00PM beginning October 2, 2000.
The Ocean City recycling center has expanded its cardboard and office paper recycling programs to any
business within the corporate city limits of Ocean City. This free service is available to any business interested
in participating. Containers and collection services are provided.
The Town of Ocean City Recycling Center has started a new pilot program for Condo-side Recycling. For more

Recycling Guide:
Newspapers & Magazines:
- Acceptable: Newspapers, magazines, telephone books and catalogs
- Not Acceptable: Paper contaminated with food or grease, junk mail
- Preparation: Place newspaper on brown paper grocery bag or tie in bundles with string. Bundle other items
separately.
- Collection: Curbside, condoside and all drop-off locations.
Plastic:
- Acceptable: Narrow neck bottles that contained soda, water, juice, laundry detergent, bleach, liquor
- Not Acceptable: Oil, antifreeze, chemical or fertilizer bottles, yogurt cups, peanut butter jars, plastic bags,
hard molded plastic items.
- Preparation: Remove lids, rinse and crush.
- Collection: Curbside, condoside and all drop-off locations.
Steel:
- Acceptable: Cans that contained food, beverages, juice, paint, pet food and all aerosols
- Not Acceptable: All steel is acceptable. Test with magnet to verify material.
- Preparation: Rinse and place lids in bottom of can. Empty aerosol cans and remove non-metal lids and
spray nozzles.
- Collection: Curbside, condoside and all drop-off locations.
Glass:
- Acceptable: Bottles, jars, food containers, mirrors, windows glass, clay pots, ceramics, ovenware, dishes,
crystal and decorative glass
- Not Acceptable: Florescent lighting tubes.
- Preparation: Remove lids and caps, rinse and drain food containers.
- Collection: Curbside, condoside and all drop-off locations.
Aluminum:
- Acceptable: Beer, soda, and pet food cans. Any product containing aluminum such as cooking pans, lawn
chairs.
- Not Acceptable: Aluminum foil.
- Preparation: Rinse and dry cans.

Corrugated Cardboard:
- Acceptable: Corrugated cardboard that has ridges between layers, may be colored and have writing and
advertising.
- Not Acceptable: Waxed corrugated boxes (frozen food), paperboard (cereal boxes), boxes contaminated
with food grease or oil, end rolls from paper products or carpets.
- Preparation: Flatten, remove tape, plastic straps, and other packaging such as Styrofoam, packaging
peanuts, etc..
- Collection: Curbside, condoside and drop-off locations at 39th Street, 66th Street, 94th Street, 130th Street.
Office Paper:
- Acceptable: Computer paper, white and colored office paper
- Not Acceptable: Blueprints, fax paper, envelops with windows, post-it notes, tyveck and other non-paper
shipping envelope.
- Preparation: Clean, dry paper.
- Collection: Businesses
Motor Oil:
- Acceptable: Uncontaminated motor oil
- Not Acceptable: Oil contaminated with other materials such as gasoline, brake fluid, hydraulic fluid, and
diesel fluid.
- Preparation: Bring to drop-off site in reusable container.
- Collection: 66th Street drop-off site.
Antifreeze:
- Acceptable: Uncontaminated antifreeze
- Not Acceptable: Antifreeze contaminated with other materials such as gasoline, brake fluid, hydraulic fluid,
and diesel fluid.
- Preparation: Bring to drop-off site in reusable container.
- Collection: 66th Street drop-off site..
