With the warm weather of spring about to descend on us, the Ocean City Tennis Center is ready with a full agenda of tennis activities. The Tennis Center, owned and operated by the Town of Ocean City, boasts six (6) “New” Premier Courts, and 3 Lee fast dry clay courts, with a professional staff on duty from May 15 – October 1, 2006.
Located on 61st Street and Bayside, the courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis through early spring, and reservation and activity opportunities are available beginning May 15 and running through October 1. Enjoy your tennis outing with other amenities offered at Ocean City’s Tennis Center: on-site free parking, restrooms, tennis lounge, and tennis shop. Activities include player matchmaking, clinics, leagues, team tennis, junior tennis camps, private and group instruction, and special events.
The Ocean City Tennis Center has been approved as one of only 3,000 USTA Tennis Welcome Centers throughout the United States. This year the tennis center will host 4 USTA tournaments including the Eastern Shore Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Championships June 9-11 and the Ocean City Junior Open August 11-13. In addition to the Ocean City Tennis Center, the Town of Ocean City operates three (3) other tennis sites which host free play, first-come, first-serve courts. These sites include 3rd Street and St. Louis Avenue, 94th Street and Bayside, and Gorman Park on 136th Street and Derrickson Avenue (Bayside).

Tennis Center Seasonal Passes
A seasonal pass entitles you to unlimited play. You may reserve a court 4 days in advance. There is a reduced fee to participate in activities excluding instruction. Memberships are non transferable. If you bring a guest, there will be a guest fee.

Looking for a tennis match? Ocean City Tennis Center provides a local player list, or during Tennis Shop hours (8 a.m.-6 p.m.) when available one of our tennis attendants can play with you! There is a $6 fee plus court time if you play with a court attendant.

Rod Dulany (Director of Tennis) – This is Rod’s fourth season as Director of Tennis at the Ocean City Tennis Center. He has achieved the status of Master Professional in the USPTA. Rod served as Director of Tennis at Washington Golf and Country Club for 30 years, which is one of the premier clubs in Northern Virginia. In 1980 he was named National Professional of the Year by the USPTA. He has also been Mid-Atlantic Professional of the Year five times. |

Dr. Keith Coleman (Teaching Professional) – Keith is in his second year as the Head Pro at the OC Tennis Center. He is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional 1. Keith works winters at the Natick Racquet Club in Natick, MA. He played #1 singles and #1 doubles and was MVP at Campbell College. Keith received a Doctorate in Psychology from Andover Newton Theological School. He grew up in Cambridge, MD and worked from 1987-2003 at the Bay Country Racket Club. Keith began his tennis career working several years with Grand Slam winner Don Budge at the Don Budge Tennis Camp in Baltimore, MD. |

Marie Thomas (Ladies’ Tennis Coordinator) – Marie returns for the third year as the Ladies’ Tennis Coordinator. Marie has played tennis for years and been involved with the sport in a number of organizational capacities. She chaired the tennis program at Green Hill Yacht and Country Club in Salisbury for several years. In addition she was co-chair of the Chris Thomas Memorial Tennis Tournament for twelve years. This was a charity event held at Salisbury University that benefited cancer care programs at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. |

Women's Morning Doubles Flights
| Tuesday and Friday morning doubles flights for women from 9:00-11:00 a.m. No partner necessary. Must be an intermediate player. Limited to 20 players per day. Let the Pro Shop know if you want to be a regular player or would like to substitute. Sessions run from May 16-August 18. Matches played on clay and premier courts. Balls provided. | |

Evening Adult Team Tennis

All tournament matches are two sets with a tie-break if needed for the third set through the semi-finals.
