Is there anyone in Ocean City that you can recommend to photograph beach portraits?

Submitted by LAURIANA M, MCSHERRYSTOWN PA on August 19, 2019

I suggest contacting Chris Parypa (646.441.0907). We have used him a few times for family portraits (one of them is below) and they always came out great. He takes a broad range of photo types and our pictures were taken in early evening, about an hour before sunset.

We are visiting for a mini family vacation September 2nd- September 4th. I am looking for some fun things to do with our boys (preferably free, but inexpensive will work as well).  Also I was wondering if it is fine to swim in the ocean in jean shorts if I don't want to wear a bathing suit?

Submitted by Heather N, Hagerstown MD on August 19, 2019

Fishing is always an option that can be free or inexpensive. The OC Fishing Pier at the Inlet is a fun place to go out and cast a line and you don't need to have a fishing license on their pier.

Does the OC bus travel onto rt. 50 across the drawbridge?

Submitted by Debra B, Cumberland MD on August 19, 2019

Yes, there is a bus route that travels from the bus station at South Division Street across the Route 50 bridge west to the OC Park and Ride lot. This route does not always run in the deeper off season.

Can you rent or drive a vehicle on the beach?

Submitted by Peggy P, Cameron WV on August 19, 2019

You cannot drive on th beach in OC without a special permit or as part of a designated special event. Occasionally there are some fishing tournaments in the off season where entrants can drive on the beach. Jeep Week (next weekend) also features a Jeep Parade down the beach in the morning. Those are about the only times the public is allowed to drive on OC's beaches.

I'm planning on coming to Ocean City from September 2 - September 6. Will umbrella and chair rental still be available during this time?

Submitted by Linda G, Tyrone PA on August 15, 2019

Yes, you can still rent beach equipment then, but not all boxes have attendants. If the rental box closest to you is not attended, just call the number on the side of the box and they will send an attendant out to help you.

Hi! I think I was overcharged for the Boardwalk Tram last night, as I was charged $27 for two people. I left this morning, so I can't dispute the charge in person. Any suggestions on who to reach out to?

Submitted by Ayde G, Carmel NY on August 15, 2019

For two people one way you should have been charged $8 ($4/person for a one way ride at the 2019 Rate). You can call the transportation department that runs the trams at 410.723.2174 to see if they can help you.
