Does OC have cabanas that you can rent or just umbrellas? If so, any idea of the cost for a cabana?

There are some beach rental equipment stands that rent Cabanas, but only at limited locations. These cabanas they are more like small shells that you can lie down in than stand up cabanas. Contact 85 'N Sunny, one of OC's larger beach equipment rental operators, at 410.713.9220 to see if they can get you what you are looking for.

Open cabanas, pop up canopies, and umbrellas are all allowed on the beach in Ocean City. Umbrellas can be closer to the water than canopies and open cabanas. A minimum of 10-15 feet behind the lifeguard stands in order to not block anything. Make sure you anchor them securely with weights or long stakes. Those little stakes that come with them won't hold in wind, so you want to make sure they are secure or if it takes off you will be held responsible for injuring another guest.
