Per Article II, Section 106-113, "It shall be unlawful for any person, other than police and maintenance personnel, to be on the beaches of Ocean City for any reason from the hours of 12:00 midnight of one day to 5:00 a.m. of the following day." This time is set aside for beach cleaning and maintenance.
Per Article II, Section 106-112 limits when you can sleep on the beach. It states: "It shall be unlawful for any person to sleep, sit, lie or loiter on, or occupy as sleeping quarters or pretend to sleep on, the beaches of Ocean City between the hours of 10:00 p.m. of one day and 6:00 a.m. of the following day."
Hey Bobbie, the lifeguards are only duty from 10am to 5:30pm. My suggestion is do not swim when lifeguards are not present. It is always better to be safe then sorry.
The beach is technically closed for cleaning from 11 pm to 6 am. Sand grooming and cleaning machines are out during those hours.
Lifeguards end their shift at 5:30 pm so at that time swimming is at your own risk till they return.
