We are staying at the Dunes Resort and Suites in August and we were wondering is it necessary to have a rental car? We just weren't sure if restaurants and stores were within walking distance. I also wanted to know if the shuttle coming from Salisbury Airport to our resort charges for each person or $35 per family. And my very last question is, is it cheaper to get a rental car outside the airport or is it about the same price no matter what? Thank you for all of your help.

The only thing I'd recommend renting while you are in town is not a car, but a bicycle. Enjoy some early morning rides with the family up and down the boardwalk!

Ocean City, MD Answered: May 23, 2020 Insider Since 2011The shuttle is person. I do not think you need a rental car. The bus works well, is clean and many people enjoy the ease of use. If you need a rental car there is an Enterprise Car Rental just outside of Ocean City.

Hunt Valley and Ocean City Answered: May 20, 2020 Insider Since 20101. You will not need a rental car once you are in OC. The Dunes is an easy walk to many places. You can also take the bus for $3/day/person to anywhere in OC.
2. The shuttle service price depends on the specific shuttle service being used. I suggest you contact them for pricing. Often Uber, Lyft or similar ride sharing services are the most affordable way to get a family from the airport to OC.
3. I don't know if it is cheaper to get a rental car outside the airport (but if it is it is likely a small price difference), but Salisbury Airport is not near a lot of other businesses, so it is will not be easy to get a car form outside the airport.
The Dunes properties are all great places to stay.

Centreville, VA Answered: May 20, 2020 Insider Since 2010That's awesome! The Dunes is a great hotel & it is next to my personal favorite food spots; Mother's Cantina & Pit and Pub! You will be just a block from the end of the boardwalk where you can shop & eat at several other places as well. All of which would be an easy walk! Alternative options to walking include taking the bus, riding the boardwalk tram or renting a bike! You certainly do not need to rent a vehicle in Ocean City!

Ocean City, Maryland Answered: May 20, 2020 Insider Since 2020In Ocean City there are restaurants all up the coast so finding a great place to eat is no issues at all. But the Dunes is near some great places like Tommy's Sub Shop, 28th st Pit & Pub and PNG Crab House.
