Kids Travel Guide to OCMD!

You can’t visit Ocean City without spending plenty of time with your toes in the sand! Start the morning by grabbing Quickies Donuts for the perfect beach breakfast. Parents - be sure to grab a cup of coffee to ensure you have ample energy for the fun-filled day ahead. Once you are finished with the beach, you won’t have to go far because you can head onto the boardwalk. This is where the Ocean City charm shines through. You absolutely cannot skip Fisher’s Popcorn; the smell alone is a rite of passage and that caramel corn is addictive for kids and adults. To cool off and get some competitive energy out, head over to Fun City Arcade. It’s bright, colorful and a total blast for the kids. And of course, no trip to OCMD is complete without a stop at Trimper’s Rides. Be sure to ride the historic carousel, spin around on the teacups, and take a ride on the ferris wheel! 

For an adventure-packed day, start with an early round of mini-golf at Nick’s Mini Golf and maybe even venture to their ropes course. After that, head to Jolly Roger’s Splash Mountain Water Park to beat the heat and enjoy the thrill. My personal favorite ride is the Master Blaster! While you are at Jolly Rogers, you can also go to Speedworld to get behind the wheel for some go-kart action. 

Ocean City has some amazing family-friendly locations to eat. When you are ready for a meal, Alley Oops is a fantastic place for the kids to play arcade games, old-school duckpin bowling, and enjoy a meal. If you are looking for something more relaxing with an amazing view, head to Tailchasers and Ropewalk, which both have playgrounds for the kiddos to enjoy. For a sweet treat, head to Flamingo Coast to try one of their dirty sodas that I know the kids will obsess over, or head to Dumser’s Dairyland’s multiple locations around town. Grab a scoop (or two) and enjoy. (You can’t forget the rainbow sprinkles!)

Sometimes you might need to get away from the chaos of the beach & boardwalk but still need to let the kids burn off steam. Ocean City has some amazing community parks that offer a quiet place to play on the playground or have a picnic. Bayside Park at Third Street has an amazing location downtown with Ocean Bowl skate park, basketball courts, pickleball courts, a large accessible playground, fishing spots, and a green space to relax. It is truly a park for all ages. Some other great parks with playground ammenities include Robin, Gorman, and Little Salisbury.
