When those arrive, there are plenty of great ways to stay entertained indoors. Shopping is always a go-to activity for a rainy day at the beach. It’s the perfect excuse to find something unique to take back home! Here in Ocean City, we have so many locally owned boutiques and surf shops for you to check out. Pick up your next beach day accessory at K-Coast, Malibu’s, or Quiet Storm, or head to South Moon Under, Tide Together Boutique, or InnerBloom Floral for a unique little something! And if you’re on the hunt for a deal, Outlets Ocean City features a number of your favorite stores.

Just because there’s rain, it doesn’t mean you can’t go for a swim! Throughout town, many hotels include indoor pools with their amenities. If you’re staying at the Residence Inn, Aloft, or Princess Royale, you’ll be in luck if the rain catches you while you’re in town!

Located right on the Boardwalk, the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum has been a go-to rainy day activity since 2001. Robert Ripley traveled the world on the hunt for the unusual and the unbelievable. Now, you can enjoy his findings right in Ocean City! The museum features over 700 mind blowing exhibits, along with the iconic mirror maze, a secret room, and themed galleries.

A rainy day is a great excuse to explore a new brewery or distillery that you may not have visited before. Right in town, Seacrets offers distillery tours and tastings. Time travel to the prohibition as you learn how liquor is distilled, view prohibition-era antiques, and enjoy sips in the Speakeasy!

Just across the Rt. 50 bridge and down 611 sits Sinepuxent Brewery, a Maryland farm brewery that grows their own blueberries, apples, pears, and hops. Enjoy their tasting room as you try their delicious beers on tap!

Finally, head to Forgotten 50 Distilling in Berlin for a great selection of cocktails featuring their on-site distilled liquors. Their large tasting room provides a great place to spend a rainy day (or even a beautiful day!) in town.

If there’s one way to pass a rainy day, it’s bar hopping! Ocean City features bar favorites all around town, with key spots for indoor sipping including the Treehouse Bar, Harborside, Coins Pub and Restaurant, Seacrets, Fager’s Island, The Bearded Clam, and Crawl Street Tavern.

The Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum is a great source of learning for both youngsters and adults! Step inside the 1891 building to explore our county's rich history and coastal heritage. The museum features maritime exhibits, historical photographs, boardwalk artifacts and even an aquarium! Learn all about how Ocean City started as a small fishing village and became the bustling beach town that it is today.

Ice cream and pizza just taste better at the beach, and a rainy day is the perfect excuse to enjoy them. Visit the Dough Roller, Fat Daddy’s, or Shottit’s Point Luna’s for a hot, cheesy slice or specialty pizza. Challenge the family to a round of skee-ball, rack up points on classic machines, or try your hand at shooting hoops at one of the Boardwalk arcades! Sportland and Fun City both offer classic arcade atmospheres and are the perfect places to spend a rainy day.

If you want to venture to mid or uptown, both Alley Oops locations offer opportunities for great family fun. Their full menu makes it a great place for lunch or dinner too! A little rain outside won’t matter when you’re caught up in the fun indoors.

A movie day is always a classic option when the rain comes to town. Head to Gold Coast Theaters (formerly Fox Gold Coast Theater) on 113th Street for a new movie under the big screen! With large, cozy reclining seats and cup holders galore, there’s plenty of space to relax, sip on a soda, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks.

A little bit of rain is an opportunity to switch things up! With so many indoor activities throughout town, there’s always something to do in Ocean City, Maryland.
