Summer is finally right around the corner, and we can’t wait for all of the fun that’s in store! With so much happening from June to August, we took to Instagram to ask you about your favorite summer events. Thank you to everyone who participated, as your answers highlight some of the fun events that make a summer in Ocean City so memorable. We’re sharing the top responses below!

Sundaes in the Park is a weekly event that happens every Sunday at Northside Park. It’s the perfect family activity, because it has it all: live music, food, and beautiful bay sunsets. Each week, both local and visiting families gather to listen to the music, have some ice cream, and enjoy the nice summer weather. Music varies each week and covers everything from country to rock to oldies, and more. There are plenty of activities for kids to enjoy! And the best part? This event is free to attend! 

Ocean City hosts a number of weekly free events including OC Beach Dance Parties, Movies on the Beach, and Sunset Park Party Nights. Check out each event to experience all of the fun!

The OC Air Show is one of the most thrilling events of the summer! Thousands of people head to the beach to enjoy the incredible talent displayed in the skies by demonstrations from a number of different flight groups. This year, the event takes place on June 14th and 15th. Star groups include the A-10 Thunderbolt II Cas Demo, West Point Parachute Team, F-16 Viper Demo Team, and the renowned U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Two additional performers will join, with details coming May 21st and 27th!

The Fourth of July is always a great day to be in Ocean City. The town comes alive during the day, and the fun continues with extraordinary fireworks displays after the sun goes down! This year is the 150th Anniversary of Ocean City, so expect the fireworks displays to be bigger and better than ever.

The festivities happen at two locations: Downtown on the N. Division Street Beach, and uptown at Northside Park. Both locations will have free live music, with the Downtown music taking place on the Caroline Street Stage. For both locations, bring a beach chair or blanket, arrive early, and enjoy the show!

As the White Marlin Capital of the world, it’s no surprise that one of Ocean City’s largest summer events is the White Marlin Open. Each year, hundreds of boats enter the world’s largest billfish tournament and fight to catch the largest white marlin, blue marlin, swordfish, tuna, dolphin, or wahoo. With multiple categories, there are a number of ways to win. Last year’s tournament saw over $8.5 million in prize money!

But even if you’re not competing, it’s still a great time to be in Ocean City. Hundreds of spectators gather to see the boats off in the wee hours of the morning. And if you’re not an early riser, you can join the fun for weigh-ins at Harbour Island or spend your day at Marlin Fest at the OC Inlet!
