What’s New at Winterfest? Why you can’t miss this Holiday Event!

This year, all visitors can stroll on the walking path through Winterfest, giving guests a chance to enjoy the lights at their own pace. This path is stroller-friendly and lets families take their time admiring the displays, snapping photos along the way. Scooters are available to rent for those who need the extra help!

To take a break from the walking path, Winterfest is adding cozy firepits throughout the grounds this year. They’re perfect for warming up with hot chocolate, sharing stories, and simply taking in the festive atmosphere between exploring the displays. You can find firepits near the Hot Chocolate Stand and near the Northside Park Building.

This year, Trimper’s Rides joins Winterfest with select rides. The nostalgic amusement park charm of Trimper’s teacups and slide combined with holiday lights and music, adds a unique touch to the Winterfest experience. In addition to rides by Trimper’s, the Town of Ocean City will add a trackless train on Thanksgiving Weekend!

New for Winterfest this year are interactive Augmented Reality (AR) games scattered throughout the light displays. Download the PlayMagic App and discover virtual holiday-themed games that bring the displays to life. It’s a perfect way to entertain kids (and kids at heart!) as they explore.

Several iconic photo spots will be set up by local partners along the walking path, designed to make perfect holiday memories. From the Seacrets Bobsled to the Pizza Tugo’s North Pole Delivery Truck, there are plenty of spots to take the perfect holiday photo. Stop by the Metal Shop’s Monster Truck “Air Mail” or Nick’s Mini Golf Hole in One and collect pictures of all your favorite local businesses! Look out for signs marking these areas!

No holiday event is complete without Santa and Mrs. Claus! Winterfest offers opportunities to meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus in person, giving kids a chance to share their holiday wish lists and snap a festive photo with them. Make sure to bring your letter to leave in Santa’s mailbox!

The Art League of Ocean City will be showcasing its “Trees for the Arts” exhibit at Winterfest, displaying beautifully decorated holiday trees by local organizations. These unique creations are crafted to reflect the local art community’s creativity and seasonal spirit, making them a must-see addition to the Winterfest path. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite!

On special Mondays & Tuesdays, we are offering a new way to experience the Winterfest of Lights with your loved ones. Take a spin through Northside Park on the Surrey rides this year. These rides are perfect for couples, families, or friends who want to experience the lights together in a relaxed, charming way. Surrey rides are limited, so it’s best to reserve early if this is a must-do on your list. Surrey rides are accessible by the West Lagoon Field on 125th street and reservations are 30 minutes long. Surrey Rides by Bike World are only available on the following dates: November 25, November 26, December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17.

Each year, Winterfest’s light displays continue to grow, and this season’s expanded displays are sure to impress. With returning favorites and some exciting new scenes, the displays create a festive, immersive experience. Keep an eye out for the iconic return of Twelve Days of Christmas scenes, which are a tradition at Winterfest!

• Dates & Times: Winterfest runs from November 21st through December 31st, operating nightly from dusk until 9 or 10 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
• Tickets: To avoid lines, consider purchasing tickets in advance, especially if visiting during peak holiday times. Get your tickets here!

• Stuff the Jeeps: We are partnering with the Ocean City Jeep Club for the first weekend of Winterfest (November 23rd and 24th) to fundraise for Toys for Tots! Bring in a toy to earn free admission to Winterfest. Toss your toy up into the display jeeps and enjoy your night at Winterfest while supporting a great cause!
• Character Breakfast: On November 30th, join us for this event that's perfect for families with young children or anyone looking to kick off the holiday season with some extra fun! This special event will take place in the morning and features a delicious hot breakfast spread while popular holiday characters roam the room to greet guests, take photos, and bring a bit of seasonal magic. • Holiday Shoppers Fair: Discover a wide selection of unique merchandise, including gourmet foods, nautical decor, handcrafted candles, photography, stunning florals, jewelry, and more from November 29th through December 1st at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center. Find great gifts for everyone on your shopping list. Plus, kids can join in the fun with exciting activities and face painting. Don’t miss this perfect opportunity to shop local and make your holiday season sparkle!
• Visit the Train Garden at the Convention Center: Just a short trip from Winterfest, the OC Convention Center features a beautiful model train garden in Dockside Hall from November 21st through December 31st. With intricate, miniature winter scenes and whimsical details, it’s a must-visit for train enthusiasts and families looking for more holiday cheer. Make sure to check out the Eastern Shore Train Toy & Hobby show from November 29th through December 1st.
