Cruise the Boards
Biking on the boardwalk is an enjoyable way to experience the sights and sounds of Ocean City. Bicycles, pushcarts, Class 1 Electronic Bikes and EPAMDS are allowed on the Boardwalk during the following times;
- From Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, between 2:00 a.m. – Noon.
- From Tuesday after Labor Day through Friday before Memorial Day at any time subject to the following exceptions: Springfest and Sunfest (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), between 2:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon of the same day.
- Class 2 & 3 Electric bicycles are not allowed on the boardwalk at any time.
Additionally, if you want to explore on foot, there are bike racks located along the boardwalk where you can safely park your bike. Whether you're seeking a leisurely ride or a more intense workout, biking on the boardwalk offers an excellent option.
Northside Park
Northside Park is an excellent destination for a leisure bike ride, especially for families with young children. The park boasts and outdoor playground and park benches where families can take a break and enjoy the scenic views. With its bike-friendly paths and serene atmosphere, Northside Park is the perfect place to unwind and have fun on a sunny day. Learn more about Ocean City's parks and playgrounds.
Assateague National Seashore
Looking for a leisurely bike ride with stunning views of the ocean and wildlife? Look no further than the Assateague Island National Seashore. You can easily get there via a special bike and pedestrian bridge near the Visitor's Center. The bike path covers 4 miles of beautiful island habitat, including Bayberry Drive and Oceanside Campground Road. This trail takes you through scenic salt marshes, pine forests, and sand dunes while offering ample opportunities to spot wild ponies, deer, and birds along the way. With its flat terrain and well-maintained surface, it's perfect for all levels of riders. If you're up for a longer ride, there's a 3 1/2 mile paved bike route that takes you from Route 611 to Assateague Island, and through the parks. For a more adventurous ride, try the 9-mile trek from Ocean City's inlet area, following Route 50 west to Route 611, and then south to Assateague Island.
