Sunshine & Salt AirBack to Top of List
Get out of your cramped car, stretch your legs, and soak up the outdoor adventures that await in OCMD. Whether biking the Boards or hiking one of the great local trails, Maryland's Coast offers an abundance of outdoor activities. From 5k races to bike festivals (and more), there is a healthy adventure awaiting, and after a long winter spent cooped up inside, there's nothing quite like getting outside and soaking up the salt air.
Assateague AdventuresBack to Top of List
Take a slow drive over the Verrazano Bridge into Assateague Island where you might be fortunate enough to be greeted by a pack of wild ponies. Once you're there, explore the natural wonders of the island and even learn about the island's separation from Ocean City at the Assateague Island Visitor Center. Explore the walking trail from the visitor center connecting you to the Rackliffe House. On the Federal side of the island, explore Bayside Drive. From bayside beaches to canoe & kayak rentals, relax on the sand with the sounds of wildlife echoing in the background.
Art & CultureBack to Top of List
Believe it or not, Ocean City's art scene is worth a ride trip any time of the year! Take, for example, the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. Offering a unique glance into Ocean City's past, the museum features exhibits on local History, marine life, and more. If you are looking for more art and culture, check out the Ocean City Center of the Arts and the Ocean City Performing Arts Center. With live performances, new exhibits, and an abundance of events, both places are sure to add a little culture to your coastal visit.
Golf & Mini GolfBack to Top of List
Depending on who your road trip companions might be, OCMD offers golf for the big kids and little kids. If you are hitting the links for a dudes' trip, then check out one of Ocean City's 17 championship courses, designed by legends of the game. Our premier course, Eagle's Landing, is like no other course you've come across. With views of the Sinepuxent Bay and Assateague National Seashore, it's the only Maryland course certified as an Audubon Sanctuary. Or, if you have the family in tow, take your pick from the mini-golf course that suits your family. From jungle animals to dinosaurs and underwater adventures, smiles and sand traps are awaiting around every corner.
Dining (Without The Crowds)Back to Top of List
Finally, one of the biggest reasons to visit this spring is to have the city all to yourself. Your favorite OC restaurants are likely to have half of the crowds they will in the busy summer months. Whether you are craving your favorite seafood or looking for your own large bucket of Thrashers Fries, spring is one of the best times to enjoy Ocean City's outstanding dining options.
So, there you have it - if we haven’t convinced you we will leave you with one last word...BEACH. Is there any reason to say no to 10 miles of beach that will charge your soul? We didn't think so.
