Our New Year’s Resolution for 2023 was to enjoy all the sounds of Ocean City. From the sound of waves crashing on the shoreline, airplanes in the sky, music from our childhood, and all the salt water sweet tunes in between. Dive into our top moments from this year as we look ahead to 2024!

Dreamfest

We kicked off the New Year with Ocean City’s first Annual Dreamfest featuring BBKing’s daughter, Paulette King, kicked off the weekend. Followed by The Commodore Experience and rounding out the weekend with the original Spinners.   The start to this Annual Festival is in honor of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr and his legacy.  Be sure to check the 2024 Dreamfest line up and get your tickets before they're gone!

The next month brought back the towns largest gathering as boats filled up the Convention Center at the 40th Annual Boat Show. Showcasing more than 350 boats, 150 exhibitors and 50 boat dealers, it’s become one of the most popular boat shows on the east coast.

march 2023

Shaking off the Winter blues and looking forward to spring as March arrives!

Director John Waters hosted the OC Film Festival. Airing shorts from local and amateur film makers. Audience laughed, cried, and enjoyed the videos shown inside and out throughout Ocean City.

The Performing Arts Center welcomed Blippi to the stage. Singing songs from his show and filling the room with applause on a Sunday, Blippi stole the hearts of his biggest littlest fans.

Marc Roberge and Jon Lampley from OAR hosted an intimate night performing some of their greatest songs. Giving Ocean City and OAR fans, a tease into what would come to the big stage just months away.

 Lewis Black

April's here and it was no joke that Lewis Black’s stand up comedy show was hilarious. That night, the PAC was Somewhere to Smile About until your cheeks hurt from all the laughter. Looking forward to the comedian line up in the new year.

The OC Tourism team reported on the release of all Hermit Crabs in town (fake news!) while the National Aquarium released a rehabilitated seal back to the sea (real events!).

may 2023

As we start to enjoy the longer days and the sun's rays, Springfest unofficially kicked off Summer with a weekend full of music, crafts, food and fun in bloom. Shadows of the 60’s and the Doo Wop Project welcomed guests of all ages to pay tribute to Motown’s super groups. Collective Soul let the “Light Shine Down” onto Joey who was invited to join them on stage from the audience.

The mayor grabbed his light sabor and rode the boardwalk with Star Wars Enthusiast at the inaugural May The Fourth Bike Ride on the boardwalk.

The return of the sounds of revving engines filled the boardwalk during the Annual Cruisin’ OC event. A non-rainy weekend provided car enthusiasts to gather all over Ocean City to OOH and AWE at the historic vehicles.

Air Show

Summer has finally arrived with the arrival of June!

OC buckled our boots on for the return of PBR Ocean City presented by Seacrets. With the electrifying sights and sounds of rugged cowboys taming bucking bulls, creating an irresistible blend of adrenaline, cowboy charm, and unforgettable moments, we are awaiting the return in 2024.

Ocean City Teamed up with Hoop Tea and Ocean 98.1 for the Summer of Smiles contest where radio callers can win an awesome cooler packed with all necessities key for the best summer vacation.

The Thunderbirds graced Downtown Ocean City with their air tricks and breathtaking acrobatics. While the airshow will be held in August of 2024, the show is bound to be jaw dropping.

downrange

Summer is in full effect as we experience Ocean City in July!

Live music filled the sunset sky at the town’s Free Events. From the concerts at Sunset Park to Sundae’s in the Park and DJ sets at the Caroline Street Stage, there was music and fun for families of all ages.

The US Army Band “Downrage” lit up the evening playing their favorite songs in appreciation of Independence Day. Followed by a perfect evening for fireworks lighting the star spangled night sky. At one point, you could witness fireworks displayed in every direction.

Laughter filled the PAC again with Terry Fator, winner of America’s Got Talent. Did that puppet really speak on his own? Ocean City may never know….

Did you ever ride the pink OC Jeep Boardwalk Tram on Barbie weekend??

sunfest 2023

We danced all month long in Ocean City's Second Summer!

The Performing Arts Center’s line up was full of great impersonators and costumes. With the Greatest Piano Men, Broadway’s Rock of Ages Band and the Rocky Horror Picture show, there was plenty of entertainment, with flying toast.

With the return of free entertainment at Sunfest, we grabbed our festie bestie. Jamming out to artists like Spin Doctors, BALLYHOO!, The Reagan Years, Treehouse and many more. Watching the dock dogs, shopping the craft tents, getting lost in the corn maze, there were activities all along the inlet and boardwalk.

Winterfest in Ocean City, MD

Our senses were heightened with the arrival of STOMP and Rumors of Fleetwood Mac in the PAC.

The opening of the Annual Winterfest of Lights drew spectators into the holiday season. The Holiday Tram made its return as well as many new attractions like the rainbow walkway, the light up ball field, and a wider light display.

Spending time with families and friends was the sweetest sound we’ve heard this month.

oc parade

As we bring our 2023 to a close, we embraced all December had to offer full of Holiday Magic and Winter Fun!

Ocean City started the month with our annual Christmas Parade. Santa on his float and carolers filled spectators with joy for the Holiday Season.
